The public bath was relaxing. Mountain view panoramas visible from rooms. Polite, professional staff. Language barrier, but tried to explain the food. Wish we stayed longer. No stress, able to relax. Excellent food, helpful staff. Amazing onsen, superb room view. Remote area, beautiful scenery. Funicular to outside onsen. Room had outside shower and bath. Hire car provided independence and more sightseeing opportunities.

Located on a steep mountain, this hotel offers a breathtaking view of the deep valley by the river. The cable car provides easy access to the hidden hot spring, ensuring a relaxing experience for guests. The well-maintained rooms are spacious and comfortable, with modern fittings and luxurious touches like an Omron massage chair and Bose CD player. The delicious local specialties served for dinner and breakfast showcase the best of Japanese cuisine.

The hotel's location next to the stream accessed by the cable car was incredible. The breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys were mesmerizing. The staff was friendly and tried their best to communicate in English. The traditional Japanese room with tatami mat and futon, along with the private bath, added to the authentic experience. The public baths, which were tattoo friendly, were relaxing and rejuvenating.
Didn't dislike anything about the property.

our stay in miyoshi was already amazing, but iya onsen took it to a whole new level. the breathtaking views, private outdoor bath, and delicious kaiseki dinner made it a remarkable experience. we felt like we were transported back in time, soaking in the riverside pools and enjoying the remote location.
No car made it challenging to explore surrounding areas.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel set amid verdant greenery. From the beautiful location with scenic views of the valley and river to the top-notch hotel facilities, everything was excellent. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with private outdoor baths. The staff was friendly, courteous, and spoke good English. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, which was included in our stay. Transportation and parking were convenient, allowing us to explore the surrounding areas without a car.
Nothing all excellent.

Great views from the balcony and spa, also really appreciated the shuttle service into town and the free Wi-Fi.
The food was mostly disappointing and overpriced. We also had issues with the heating and found the staff unhelpful.

The hotel is located in a serene valley on the side of a mountain, with a beautiful view of the river that flows below. Guests can access the onsen by taking a scenic ride down to the valley via the cable car. The hotel rooms are spacious and comfortable, complete with a massage chair and a Bose sound system.
The staff speak limited English, making it difficult for non-Japanese-speaking guests to communicate effectively.

The food, staff's English capability, helpful staff, onsen, view from room.
Nothing not to like.

The location of the hotel was stunning with breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys. The cable car down to the onsen was a fun experience and the private outdoor bath was a nice touch. The included meals were delicious and provided a taste of local produce. The shuttle service from the station was helpful and reliable.
The lack of elevator made it difficult to get around and the stairs to the onsen were steep. The service was not particularly friendly or efficient and some staff seemed to lack knowledge about the food they were serving. The onsen water was not as hot as expected and the indoor bath lacked ambience.
